Its almost that time of year again! The 2019 Wisconsin Film Festival is coming very soon! The Wisconsin Film Festival is organized each year by The Division of the Arts, who co-sponsors The Studio, as well as by the Department of Communication Arts. Here are a few movies to look out for:

The Good Girls (2018)

Friday, April 5 | 11:15 am | AMC Madison 5
Saturday, April 6 | 4:00 pm | AMC Madison 5

The women in the Spanish narrated drama The Good Girls (Las ninas bien) are living in golden cages, though they are so close to the bars that from the inside, it might look like freedom. As the wives of upper-class men in 1982 Mexico, the lives of the titular protagonists consist of constant gossiping, buying expensive gowns and creams, and having yet another lunch at the racquet club (while the maids, gardeners and chauffeurs look after theirs husbands, homes and kids). Things get very complicated when their funds begin to drop.

Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018)

Friday, April 5 | 2:30 pm | UW Cinematheque (4070 Vilas Hall)

A special 3D screening of the Oscar-nominated animated hit RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET will be presented in person by screenwriter, co-director, and UW Madison alum Phil Johnston, followed by a special behind-the-scenes look at the making of this contemporary Disney classic.

Disney Animation’s imaginative, laugh-a-minute follow-up to Wreck-It Ralph reunites Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) as they ditch their arcade game origins for the loud and limitless reaches of the World Wide Web.

Tito and the Birds (2018)

Saturday, April 6 | 11:45 am | the Marquee, Union South

Together with his two friends Sarah and Buiú, Tito, an inventive and bright 10-year-old embarks on a journey to find his father’s missing research on bird songs. This missing piece of research is the one thing that just might save their world from an epidemic where fear is crippling people, making them sick and transforming them into stones.
