We’re very excited to welcome everyone back on campus! We hope that everyone had a stellar winter break. Now that we are back in business for the second semester, we would like to start by introducing our new Faculty Director Carolyn Kallenborn. She is an associate professor in Design Studies at UW–Madison and is familiar with The Studio: she has regularly been invited by Faisal to be a guest artist for The Studio Seminar, and she has led and co-organized our big fashion show project, Project Thrift!, for several years.
Professor Kallenborn’s regular teaching load includes courses such as “Global Artisans” and “Design and Fashion Event Practicum.” Her artistic practice goes beyond textiles to include video, installation, and performance. We’re excited to have her on board! Our students will have ample opportunities to get to know her throughout this semester. Her website can be found here.
