Hopefully you have noticed all the voting promotion, from Instagram posts on deadlines to register to chalk writing and tents on East Campus Mall. As Wisconsin is a swing state, students voting here matters even more no matter who you vote for. Therefore, YES, your vote does matter. Tuesday, November 3 is election day, and we would like everyone to try and make an effort to vote. Got questions? Well, hopefully we have the answers for you!
You may be asking questions like… Can I use my WisCard or other ID? Where can I vote? Is it too late to mail in? Can I bring in my mail in ballot? Well UW–Madison has gathered all those answers. Click here for information specifically about voting on campus!
Maybe you are already a resident of Wisconsin? Make a plan and DO NOT get stuck in lines! Click here for information about in-person absentee hours and locations to vote effectively.
Big Ten Voting Challenge!
Maybe a little school pride can incentivize you? The Big Ten Voting Challenge is a competition among the 14 universities in the Big Ten Conference. Universities will be competing to win two titles – “Greatest Overall Turnout” and “Greatest Increase in Voting Rates.” The winners will be chosen based on data provided by the National Study on Learning, Voting, and Engagement and announced in Fall 2020 at an awards ceremony. The winning universities will be presented with trophies.
