Ending the Year with Big Events!

As the second semester comes to a close, everyone is looking for somewhere to show off what they have been working on. From long projects, to just something that you worked on in your free time in the midst of a pandemic, here are two events that will be showcasing amazing art and artist.

LINE BREAKS 2021

A virtual event featuring the works of our amazing First Wave Scholars. Streaming on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook pages @omaifirstwave. Tune in on Saturday, April 17 at 6pm CST.

The First Wave Program is the only full tuition Hip-Hop and Urban Arts Scholarship and it is here at UW–Madison where you can watch them showcase their newest cohort, as well as some others. From poetry to music to the visual arts, the Line Breaks Festival has always been a range of emotions, always with top tier talent.

You may even know some of the First Wavers performing from living in the Studio Learning Community!

STUDIO SHOWCASE

The Studio Showcase is always a fun and supportive environment that never lacks in surprises. From someone you’ve only seen in the hall to maybe even your house fellow showcasing some new and/or old art. This will not only be the last Studio Showcase this year, this will also be the last event the Studio will host before the semester ends, so get ready for some emotions and reflection on what this year has meant for all of us.

If you are an alumni or resident of the Studio looking to submit to the showcase, you can submit here. Make sure to join us on Monday, April 19 on Zoom at 6pm CST.

Love, the Studio.
