Project Thrift 2019

One of our favorite events of the year is coming up soon! Project Thrift is our version of Project Runway and it is always a blast. On Saturday, February 23, residents of the Studio, StartUp, and Greenhouse learning communities will have the opportunity to become become fashion designers. They will head to a local thrift store at noon and have only a short amount of time to pick all of the materials they need to design a look to put on the runway. Back at Sellery Hall, designers will transform their materials and design new, re-purposed, creative garments. The event will culminate in a full-fledged fashion show at 6:30 pm where designers will present their looks.

Residents are welcome to come view the fashion show even if they can’t participate as a designer. Some residents may also perform to kick off the show. This is a great opportunity to explore creative possibilities in fashion design – not to mention that there is a $100 grand prize for the winner!
